My last diploma.

I began this process more than 11 years ago, in January of 2008. At the time, it may have seemed a bit crazy, and perhaps it was. I gave up a potential engineering career in order to pursue a different path. Pre-med. Med school. Internship. Residency. Fellowship. In many ways, 2008 ”me” would not even recognize 2019 “me”, and vice versa. Yet, here I am. From extremely humble beginnings in this field, I have done it. I have finally completed my formal medical education. I will soon become board certified in both diagnostic and interventional radiology.

I would just like to take this opportunity to thank all of the people I have worked alongside through the years. My classmates at NYCOM, fellow students and co-residents at the seemingly dozens of hospitals where I have spent time, all of the nurses, techs, and staff I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing, particularly at Plainview, Morristown, Overlook, UPMC and Pittsburgh VA. You are the ones who maintained my sanity throughout this long, often difficult journey! Of course, I have to thank my attendings, program directors, and coordinators for their dedication, patience and guidance, always seeming to steer me in the right direction. Most of all, I need to offer my undying gratitude to my family and friends, and especially my wife, for putting up with my general absenteeism... the weekends spent locked away cramming for an exam, the 300-something call shifts, overnights, weekends, and holidays spent at the hospital in varying states of mental and physical exhaustion... I could not have achieved this without you. Thank you all.

WE DID IT!

At long last, I have graduated from radiology residency alongside four amazing  colleagues of the Class of 2018. Thank you to EVERYONE who has supported me on this journey, including my wife, family, friends, and all of my attendings, co-residents past and present, nurses, technologists and staff who have become outstanding friends of mine these past four years at Morristown and Overlook hospitals. If I were to go into detail, I could probably write for days about my residency experience, but suffice it to say, I've learned more than I ever imagined, weathered some storms, experienced triumph, failure, and triumph again.  This has been a humbling journey, to say the least.  Now, it's on to the final stepping stone in the training process... fellowship. Sure to be an even greater adventure and personal challenge.

Pittsburgh, PA, HERE WE COME!
